journalists and their audiences

   Before recent technology, mass communication medias tried to reach all types of people and suit all their interests. Like Mr.Miller's example in class about how radio stations would play all types of news or music to try and reach everyone in a typical household. But now that there are stations and t.v channels that reach a group of individuals with common interest. That's why I think it's important for journalist to know who their audience is and what they care about or enjoy. This is also why all those commercials are so similar on certain channels, so that journalists make sure their message is communicated to the desired audience,(people who generally watch that channel).
